ASNS has pioneered programs such as the first American NGO run center in Matamoros specifically designed to serve asylum seekers (Resource Center Matamoros) the first LGBTQ+ case management program and shelter in Matamoros (now known as Rainbow Bridge Asylum Seekers) and has coordinated a collaborated effort to develop a respite center in Matamoros that can house close to 1,000 persons that helps avoid homelessness among the immigrant community.

We also partner with various immigrant advocacy organization and activists to achieve a holistic approach to serving the migrant population with their needs. Our involvement allows to advocate for specific needs of asylum seekers, with an emphasis on vulnerable populations such as, women, children, and LGBTQ+.
